Terra Foundation Artmapper
Artmapper is an art publishing web application that supports an art organization's need to apply historical and theoretical meta information to the surface of an artwork. It was developed to be compatible with the emerging IIIF image standard and supports deep zooming via Microsoft's open-source Openseadragon framework.
Artmapper's points are listed in a tray that slides out from the left side. This provides an optional linear reading through an artwork. Small circles positioned on the painting help locate points of interest.
The publishing experience of Artmapper includes a small circular cropping tool that the publisher can use to select a section within an artwork. This selection is saved as an image identifying the point in the artwork's point tray.

Creating a point consists of writing a title and a rich-text description, which can include videos and photography.
