Supported by the Gates Foundation, the American Architecture Foundation's Design for Learning initiative connects public school educators with designers and architects to learn how design thinking and research can better inform classroom function and personalized pedagogy. The Design for Learning web portal and application is a place to learn about the initiative, get involved, and become inspired.

The Design for Learning initiative website was planned to foreground stories from DFL's experience working with schools, designers, and architects.

Many different concepts were explored through wire-frames.

The user portal was prototyped to be a dynamic and vibrant content space where educators could find inspiring stories, sketches, and methods offered up by people from the creative community.

Prototyping interactivity and movement.

Picture cards were used in workshops with the client to explore the client team's aesthetic preferences and better understand their perspective.

The Design for Learning strategy was planned to engage public school communities around the country, find meaningful points of interruption, and align community members with designers and educators so that school construction could be more deeply rooted in transformative learning methodologies.
